Artist Statement

This website contains photography by Aaron Kennedy, a North Dakotan photographer. On these pages are the results of endless photographic trips during storm chases, hikes, and other road-trips throughout the southern and northern plains. Popular subjects include abandoned houses, wildlife such as lizards and buffalo, tornados, supercells, lightning, and other violent weather. Aaron Kennedy is originally from Rockford, IL, and is a post-doctoral researcher at the U. of North Dakota. He recently completed his PhD in Atmospheric Science at UND after finishing his BS and MS at the U. of Oklahoma.

Aaron's work has been featured in a variety of publications including Oklahoma Today Magazine, Dodge Magazine, and the 2008/2009/2011 Weather Guide Calendars. Additional work has been displayed in many small publications including (but not limited to) articles by the U. of Oklahoma, U. of North Dakota, the National Weather Service, and the Electronic Journal of Severe Storms Meteorology.
