Aaron Kennedy is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Atmospheric Science at the University of North Dakota. From an early age, he was inspired by the constantly changing weather, and his love for the field blossomed with the severe weather he observed in Northern Illinois. Aaron followed his passion to the University of Oklahoma where he found photography, classwork, and the Oklahoma pastime of storm chasing went hand-in-hand. After finishing his B.S. (2004) and M.S. (2006) in meteorology, he headed to UND to pursue his Ph.D. (2011). There, his photography expanded to include wintertime subjects such as snowflakes and snowmobile racing.
Aaron's work has been featured in a variety of publications including Oklahoma Today Magazine, Dodge Magazine, several Weather Guide Calendars, the UND Alumni Review, and a number of snowmobile publications. His work has also been used within the field of meteorology for spotter training, class lectures, and his M.S. thesis.
